Finance plan for the National Mall Underground, successful AIA event, Mall History Quiz

Dear Friends of the National Mall,

The National Mall is once again coming to life, shaking off the eerie quiet of the past several months of Covid-19 induced quarantine. Monuments and museums were closed and DC residents and tourists cautiously stayed away. Now the Washington Monument has reopened and the Smithsonian is gradually welcoming visitors to some of the Mall museums.

• A newly completed Financing Plan supports the feasibility of the multi-purpose National Mall Underground stormwater reservoir and Mall Welcome Center multi-purpose project.
• In June the Coalition presented the National Mall Underground project to a record audience during the American Institute of Architect’s Architecture Month. Watch the full Zoom presentation or a 17-minute shortened version.
• We continue to monitor and participate in the public hearings on projects proposed for the National Mall.
